Freeport, NY (August 4, 2026) – A pedestrian was struck while crossing N Main Street near Prince Avenue in Freeport late on Monday night. The person was hit by a 2018 Buick Encore at about 10:05 p.m.
The pedestrian, a 44-year-old man, was taken for medical care and listed in critical condition. The Buick driver, a 30-year-old man, remained at the crash site after the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The identities of the pedestrian and driver were not released in the initial report. No arrests or charges had been announced as of Monday morning.
