Cherokee Co., SC (August 30, 2026) – A 26-year-old pedestrian was killed on Friday night, August 28, after being struck by a vehicle on South Carolina Highway 18 near Old Race Track Road in Cherokee County. The collision happened at approximately 10:30 p.m.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was attempting to cross when she was struck by a westbound Chrysler SUV.
The pedestrian was taken to Cherokee Medical Center, where she died later that night. The SUV driver was not injured. The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office and state troopers continue to investigate the crash.
