Wilmington, DE (June 25, 2026) – A male pedestrian died on Wednesday morning, June 24, after being hit by a dump truck on Maryland Avenue near Brookside Drive. The accident happened around 10:00 a.m.
Initial information said the pedestrian was believed to be in his 30s. Emergency units arrived and found the man down in the roadway. Life-saving measures were performed, but the man died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the site.
Maryland Avenue was closed for about two and a half hours while investigators examined the roadway and cleared the crash. No additional details about the pedestrian were released. The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under review.
