West Rutland, VT (June 27, 2026) – A 30-year-old man lost his life after a hit-and-run collision on Main Street in West Rutland early Friday morning. The accident was discovered shortly before 5:30 a.m.

Police said Devin Pierro was walking west along Main Street when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Troopers were notified after he was found lying in the grass on the north side of the roadway. He was pronounced dead following the fatal collision.

The driver involved has not been identified, and no information about the vehicle has been released. Route 4A was temporarily closed in both directions before reopening later Friday.
