Queens, NY (August 28, 2026) – A 61-year-old woman died Wednesday morning after a Honda Civic struck her while she crossed Union Turnpike near Main St. The accident happened around 8 a.m. in Kew Gardens Hills.
According to the NYPD, Wang Jing was crossing outside the marked crosswalk when the 2010 Honda Civic hit her. The 56-year-old driver was turning left onto Union Turnpike when the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The force of the collision caused Jing to fall into the roadway and suffer major head trauma. Emergency units took her to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver remained at the location and did not report any injuries. The investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing. Our condolences are with Wang Jing’s family and loved ones.
