Charlotte, NC (July 8, 2026) – A 53-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Monday morning on East Independence Boulevard in southeast Charlotte. Deputies reached the scene shortly after 8 a.m. on July 6.
Officials identified the victim as Idrisu Issaku. According to the preliminary investigation, the tractor-trailer was backing toward a loading dock when Issaku became trapped between the truck and the loading dock wall. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
