Why Highway Pedestrian Crashes Require Detailed Review
Pedestrian crashes on high-speed highways can involve several factors that require careful examination. Investigators may review the location where the pedestrian entered the roadway, traffic flow, lighting conditions, visibility, and the positions of the vehicles involved.
Roadway evidence, vehicle damage, surveillance footage, and witness statements can provide additional insight into the sequence of events. In crashes involving multiple vehicles, investigators may also determine the sequence of impacts and the role of each vehicle. This information helps develop a more complete understanding of how the incident occurred.
