Why Busy City Intersections See Frequent Two-Vehicle Crashes
Intersections like N University St and W McClure Ave often experience steady traffic throughout the afternoon. Vehicles approach from multiple directions, and drivers must respond quickly to traffic signals and turning vehicles.
Two-vehicle crashes commonly happen when one driver misjudges the speed of oncoming traffic or fails to yield the right of way. Even low-speed impacts can cause injuries and disrupt traffic flow.
Urban intersections may also involve pedestrians, cyclists, and buses, adding to the complexity. Brief lane closures are common after crashes so responders can assist those involved and remove damaged vehicles. Staying alert and reducing speed when approaching intersections can help lower the risk of collisions in busy areas of the city.
