Milaca, MN (August 25, 2026) – A pickup driver was injured on Monday morning after his vehicle struck a semi tractor-trailer on Hwy 23 in Milaca.
The accident happened around 8:51 a.m. at Hwy 23 and 1st St SE. A 2018 Volvo tractor-trailer was eastbound on Hwy 23 and turning left onto 1st St SE when a 2012 GMC Sierra struck it from behind.
The Sierra was driven by 21-year-old Preston Gerald Johnson of Danvers. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to North Memorial Robbinsdale.
The semi driver, 23-year-old Cody Michael Pappenfus of Bowlus, was not hurt. Both drivers were reported as not wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not suspected as a factor.
The circumstances surrounding the collision continue to be reviewed. We hope Johnson makes a full recovery from his injuries.
