Why Rollover Crashes Frequently Result in Serious Injuries
Rollover crashes can generate powerful forces that expose vehicle occupants to multiple impacts as a vehicle overturns. Even when occupants are restrained, rollovers frequently result in injuries to the head, neck, shoulders, and upper body because of the violent motion involved.
Following a rollover collision, investigators typically examine vehicle damage, tire marks, roadway conditions, witness statements, and the final resting positions of the vehicles to determine how the crash occurred. They may also review whether factors such as speed, road conditions, or mechanical issues contributed to the incident.
