Port Charlotte, FL (January 26, 2026) – A deadly collision involving two motorcycles and an SUV occurred Sunday afternoon in Port Charlotte, leaving one motorcyclist dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of US-41 and Centennial Boulevard.
Troopers report that an SUV had stopped at a stop sign on Centennial Blvd and attempted to make a left turn across all lanes of US-41. During the maneuver, the SUV violated the right-of-way of two motorcycles traveling southbound on US-41.
Both motorcycles struck the side of the SUV. The driver of one motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the second motorcyclist has not been released, and it is unclear whether any occupants of the SUV were injured.
Authorities closed portions of the roadway as they worked to investigate the crash and clear debris. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident to determine all contributing factors.
