Prunedale, CA (January 5, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash early Friday morning on northbound US-101 near the Crazy Horse Canyon Road off-ramp left at least one person injured and prompted a response from fire and emergency crews in the Prunedale area of Monterey County.
The collision occurred around 6:12 a.m., approximately a quarter-mile north of the Crazy Horse Canyon exit. According to California Highway Patrol logs, the crash involved a silver Honda Accord that sustained rear-end damage. The vehicle was later found on the right-hand shoulder of the highway. The second vehicle involved reportedly fled the scene.
Emergency responders, including fire crews and medics, arrived shortly after the crash and provided medical assistance to the injured party. While the specific nature and severity of the injuries have not been released, at least one individual required on-site treatment.
CHP officers moved the involved vehicle off the main highway to Dunbarton Rd, where additional investigation and coordination took place. A tow truck was called to remove the damaged Honda Accord.
Authorities are continuing to search for the hit-and-run driver. No suspect description or vehicle information has been released at this time.
