What Is Often Reviewed After a Fatal Head-On Truck Crash?
After a fatal head-on truck crash, investigators often begin by reviewing the position of each vehicle, the direction of travel, and the point of impact. Damage patterns on the front ends of both trucks can help show how the collision happened and whether one vehicle crossed into the opposite lane.
Road conditions are also commonly reviewed, including lighting, weather, shoulder width, and any nearby intersections or side roads. In crashes involving trailers, the cargo load and how it was secured may also provide useful context. Medical updates from survivors can later help confirm the severity of injuries and the sequence of events. In many cases, these early findings help build a clearer picture of what happened before the collision.
