What Factors Are Often Reviewed After a Suspected Impaired Driving Crash?
After a crash where impairment is suspected, several factors are often reviewed to piece together what happened. Driver behavior leading up to the crash, such as swerving or drifting between lanes, may be noted through witness accounts or nearby cameras.
Toxicology results can also provide more clarity, though these findings may take time to be completed. Road conditions, visibility, and traffic flow are also considered when examining how the crash occurred.
Vehicle positioning and impact points may help show how the vehicles came into contact. In many cases, early information remains limited until further analysis is completed.
