Richmond, VA (January 19, 2026) – A bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries following a serious collision with a vehicle along Midlothian Turnpike on Saturday evening, prompting a large-scale emergency response and road closures.
The incident occurred near the Burger King in the 23235 area of Midlothian Tpke. Emergency units, including Engine 204 and Medic 220, were dispatched around 6:22 p.m. after reports of a bicyclist being struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders found the bicyclist unconscious and not breathing.
Paramedics immediately began life-saving efforts on-site, working urgently to stabilize the victim. Due to the severity of the situation, all eastbound lanes of Midlothian Turnpike were temporarily shut down as rescue crews treated the injured party and secured the area.
