Richmond, VA (January 26, 2026) – A pedestrian sustained injuries Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of a Food Lion on Meadowdale Blvd, prompting a rapid emergency response in Chesterfield County.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 7:05 p.m. to the scene near the intersection of Meadowdale Blvd, Resting Way Ln, and Hopkins Rd in Fire District 3. Initial reports indicated a serious incident involving a pedestrian, and the call was classified as a priority one response.
Engine 202 and Ambulance 243 responded to the scene and were later joined by Truck 214. Upon arrival, responders assessed the situation and provided immediate medical care to the injured pedestrian. Medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital with injuries that warranted advanced life support, though the severity has not been officially confirmed.
Dispatch audio suggests that the nature of the incident led to a priority downgrade as conditions stabilized and the patient was en route to the hospital. Chesterfield Ambulance 243 confirmed the downgrade to a priority three call by 7:10 p.m.
