Elmira, NY (June 22, 2026) – A 26-year-old motorcyclist lost his life following a collision with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Clemens Center Pkwy and Division St in Elmira on Saturday afternoon, June 20.
According to the Elmira Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:11 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car.
When emergency crews arrived, they found that the two vehicles had collided in the intersection. Elmira Police officers, Chemung County Sheriff’s deputies, members of the Elmira Fire Department, and EMS personnel responded to assist at the scene.
Authorities identified the motorcyclist as 26-year-old Hunter Squires of Elmira. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased following the crash.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Information regarding the extent of the driver’s injuries was not immediately released.
Investigators stated that the driver and multiple witnesses have been cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues. The police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Elmira Police Department.
