Multi-Vehicle Crashes Often Occur in Heavy Traffic Conditions
Crashes involving several vehicles can happen when traffic is dense, and speeds vary between lanes. A sudden slowdown or unexpected stop can cause a chain reaction, with multiple vehicles colliding in sequence.
Different types of vehicles can add to the complexity. Larger vehicles like buses or vans may block visibility, making it harder for drivers behind them to see changes in traffic ahead.
The following distance is a key factor in preventing these incidents. When vehicles are too close together, drivers have less time to react. Keeping space between vehicles can reduce the chance of multiple impacts in busy traffic areas.
