Secondary Crashes Can Increase Risks After Initial Collisions
Crashes that happen after an initial collision can be especially dangerous. When drivers exit their vehicles to check damage, they may be exposed to traffic on busy roads.
Vehicles approaching the scene may not have enough time to slow down or stop. This can lead to additional impacts, especially in low-light conditions or high-speed areas.
Staying aware of surroundings and moving to a safe location away from traffic can reduce risk.
