Why Rollover Crashes Can Lead to Serious Injuries
Rollover crashes often result in serious injuries because vehicles may flip multiple times or land on their sides or roofs. Occupants can be thrown violently inside the vehicle during these crashes, increasing the risk of head, neck, and chest trauma.
Intersections are common locations for rollover collisions, especially when vehicles strike each other from the side or at an angle. The force of impact can destabilize a vehicle and cause it to overturn.
Safety experts encourage drivers to slow down near intersections and remain alert for crossing traffic. Wearing seat belts is also one of the most effective ways to reduce injuries during rollover crashes.
