Frequently Asked Questions
What should someone do if they're hit by a driver who flees the scene?
Try to get a description of the vehicle, including plate number, color and direction of travel, and report it to police as soon as possible. Witnesses and nearby security or dashcam footage can also help investigators identify the driver.
What are the most common causes of car accidents?
Distracted driving, speeding, following too closely and failing to yield are among the most frequent factors cited in crash reports.
How does speed affect crash severity?
Higher speeds give drivers less time to react and increase the force of impact, which tends to make injuries more severe and raises the chance of a vehicle leaving the roadway or rolling over.
What injuries are common in car accidents?
Whiplash, broken bones, head injuries and cuts from broken glass are frequently reported, even in crashes that look minor from the outside.
