Salinas, CA (January 2, 2026) – Emergency crews responded early New Year’s Day to a rollover crash on Fremont St near Baja in Salinas that left one person injured and briefly trapped inside the vehicle.

The incident was reported at approximately 4:12 a.m. when police and fire personnel arrived to find a vehicle overturned with one occupant still inside. According to dispatch reports, the individual was conscious and breathing but complained of neck pain while emergency responders worked to safely extricate them.

Firefighters and medics from Monterey County Fire & EMS coordinated the extrication and provided medical care at the scene. The injured individual was stabilized and transported for further evaluation. No additional details on their condition were immediately available.
