San Bernardino, CA (January 23, 2026) – A deadly collision on Interstate 210 claimed the life of a 46-year-old Orange County man early Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 5:42 a.m. on January 20 on the eastbound side of I-210, just east of the Miramonte undercrossing, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim was identified as Dale Kirk Wintersteen. CHP officials confirmed that Wintersteen was the driver involved in the fatal crash. Despite the immediate response from emergency medical services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released information on the number of vehicles involved, nor have they confirmed the sequence of events that led to the incident. No other injuries were reported, and no arrests or citations have been announced at this time.
Traffic on eastbound I-210 was affected during the morning commute as officers conducted their investigation and worked to clear the area. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation.
