Victorville, CA (January 23, 2026) – A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday evening in Victorville, marking another tragic pedestrian death in the region. The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. on January 19 at the intersection of Seventh Street and Circle Drive, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the scene and found 60-year-old Jimmy Jones Jr., a homeless resident of Victorville, lying unresponsive in the roadway. Despite immediate efforts from emergency responders, Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators reported that Jones had walked into the northbound right-hand lane of Seventh Street moments before the crash. A black Chevrolet Suburban traveling in the number two lane struck him near the intersection. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with deputies. No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
The area was secured by deputies for several hours while an investigation was conducted. Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash, including lighting conditions and driver visibility at the time of the impact.
