San Diego, CA (February 2, 2026) – A motorcycle rider was injured Sunday afternoon following a traffic collision on Torrey Pines Road in the La Jolla area of San Diego. The crash was reported at approximately 4:51 p.m. along the winding stretch of roadway known for steep grades and sharp curves.
Details from dispatch information indicate that a 37-year-old man was traveling uphill on his motorcycle at an estimated speed of 50 miles per hour when he lost control. The rider reportedly veered toward the center of the roadway and was struck on the left side by another vehicle. After impact, he fell to the right and slid an estimated 10 to 15 feet before coming to rest.
When emergency responders from San Diego arrived, the motorcyclist was found sitting on a curb near his bike, alert and fully aware of what had occurred. He complained primarily of severe pain in both arms. Responders noted abrasions to his elbows, while protective gear, including a helmet, gloves, and riding jacket, appeared to limit further injuries.
Paramedics evaluated the rider at the scene, stabilized him, and prepared him for transport. He was taken to Scripps La Jolla for additional medical care. The incident remains under review, and we extend our well wishes to the injured rider as he recovers.
