San Francisco, CA (May 3, 2026) – One person was hospitalized after an e-bike battery caught fire inside a San Francisco building on Saturday, May 2. The fire was reported at night in the 1800 block of 15th Street.
Emergency units responded after reports of a fire inside a third-floor room. Crews treated three people for injuries at the scene, and one person was taken to a hospital.
Officials said the fire was caused by a lithium-ion battery on a bike. One person was displaced after the fire, and assistance was expected at the scene.
