San Jose, CA (January 5, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on northbound US-101 just south of the Oakland Road off-ramp resulted in injuries Friday morning and slowed traffic in the area during rush hour.
The crash occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. and involved a gray Infiniti G35 and a light-colored sedan. Both vehicles came to rest on the right-hand shoulder following the impact. Emergency responders, including paramedics and California Highway Patrol officers, arrived at the scene to assess injuries and manage traffic control.
At least one person sustained injuries in the crash and received treatment on-site before being transported for further medical attention. The extent of those injuries has not been confirmed, but the incident was classified as an injury crash.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles, and cleanup operations were completed within the hour. No major lane closures were reported, but residual slowing occurred as drivers navigated around emergency personnel and disabled vehicles.
CHP is leading the investigation and reviewing whether driver error, traffic conditions, or other factors played a role in the collision.
We send our best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to those injured in this US-101 crash.
