Staten Island, NY (July 15, 2026) – Six people were taken to a hospital after a school bus and another vehicle collided on the westbound Staten Island Expressway near Slosson Avenue/Exit 12 on Monday, July 13. Emergency units were dispatched to the crash at approximately 1:35 p.m.
The collision involved a school bus and a gray passenger vehicle. Video from the scene showed significant front-end damage to the bus, while the other vehicle sustained damage to both its front and rear.
Six people were taken to Richmond University Medical Center. Their identities, ages, and medical conditions were not immediately released.
Investigators continue working to determine what led to the accident as additional information is gathered. We hope everyone who was hospitalized receives the care they need and makes a full recovery.
