Markleeville, CA (July 15, 2026) – A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a traffic collision on July 10 on State Route 89 near Morning Star Road, south of Grass Lake in Alpine County.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch information, the motorcycle went off the roadway shortly before noon. Emergency units were called to the highway after reports of the motorcycle crash around 12:00 p.m. An air ambulance was requested and dispatched to the scene as crews worked to assist the rider.
The roadway was temporarily closed while emergency personnel managed the situation and cleared the highway. Initial reports did not indicate whether any other vehicles were involved. Additional details about what led to the collision were not immediately available.
