North Port, FL (August 7, 2026) – Two people were trapped, including one who suffered traumatic injuries, after a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck rollover on Interstate 75 in North Port on Thursday, August 6.
According to North Port Fire Rescue, the crash occurred on southbound I-75 near mile marker 174. Emergency crews from North Port Fire Rescue and the North Port Police Department responded to the scene, where they found a rolled-over semi-truck and two people trapped inside the wreckage. Officials confirmed that one of the victims was designated a trauma alert.
The crash forced the closure of all but one southbound lane, causing major traffic delays. Authorities urged motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while emergency crews worked to rescue those involved and clear the scene. Additional information regarding the identities of the victims and the cause of the crash has not been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
