El Paso, TX (August 29, 2026) – Two people were hurt Thursday morning after a semi-truck overturned at Desert South Dr and Transmountain Dr. The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27.
The semi landed on its side and spilled fertilizer onto the roadway. Both people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, according to transportation and fire officials.
The material was identified as ammonium sulfate contained in large bags. Officials said it did not pose a danger to the public, while the right two lanes were initially closed.
The circumstances surrounding the wreck remain under review. We hope those injured recover quickly.
