Phoenix, AZ (July 26, 2026) – A man was critically hurt after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road on Friday afternoon, July 24, at the intersection of 27th Ave and Camelback Rd in west Phoenix.
The collision happened shortly after 2:00 p.m. Emergency units arrived and found the man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
According to preliminary information, the driver remained at the roadway and cooperated with investigators. Impairment is not believed to have contributed to what happened. A damaged white Chrysler sedan was seen at the intersection following the collision.
Witnesses told investigators that the driver entered the intersection with a green traffic signal just before the pedestrian was hit. Detectives continue working to determine exactly how the collision occurred.
