Troy, OH (September 11, 2026) – A 49-year-old man was seriously injured, and two children were hurt after a plane went down at Troy Skypark Airport in Monroe Township. The aircraft went down shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, while approaching the runway.
Investigators believe the single-engine Bellanca 7ECA struck a tree during the approach. The pilot suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Premier Health Miami Valley Hospital. Two 6-year-old children aboard the plane were taken to Premier Health Upper Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration were notified following the accident. The cause of the collision remains under investigation as investigators work to determine what led to the plane going down.
