Shelton, CT (January 26, 2026) – A child sustained burn injuries following a structure fire that broke out on Saturday night on Liberty St in Shelton, according to local fire officials.
Shelton firefighters were called to the scene around 8:30 p.m. on January 24, where they encountered a working fire in a residential structure. All occupants were able to evacuate safely before crews arrived; however, one child was reported to have suffered burns during the incident.
Emergency personnel provided immediate assistance at the scene, and the injured child was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. No additional injuries were reported among the residents or responding firefighters.
Crews worked diligently to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent properties. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
At this time, officials have not confirmed the cause of the fire, and an investigation is expected to follow in coordination with the local fire marshal.
