Sneads, FL (January 15, 2026) – A deadly crash early Thursday morning on Interstate 10 eastbound in Jackson County has left at least one person dead and forced the closure of the highway near mile marker 158.
The fatal incident occurred around 4:48 a.m. near the Sneads area, prompting a swift response from emergency crews. Upon arrival, responders confirmed a fatality at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Due to the severity of the crash, all eastbound lanes of I-10 were shut down and traffic was detoured at Exit 158. Authorities urged drivers to use extreme caution and follow posted detour signs while the scene remained under active investigation and cleanup.
