Why Head-On Collisions Often Lead to Serious Injuries
Head-on crashes are among the most dangerous types of roadway collisions. When two vehicles strike each other from opposite directions, the combined force of impact can cause severe damage.
On highways like US-460, vehicles often travel at higher speeds. If a car crosses the center line, oncoming drivers may have little time to react. Even a brief lapse can result in a serious crash.
Air transport is sometimes used when injuries are severe or when rapid medical care is needed. Multi-lane highway closures are also common in head-on collisions due to debris and vehicle positioning.
