Southington, CT (January 31, 2026) – A serious collision involving an oil truck and a tractor-trailer occurred on January 30 along the westbound side of I-84 near Exit 32, resulting in one person being extricated and injured.
Connecticut State Police responded to the scene shortly after 2:00 p.m. and confirmed that extrication was required to remove the victim from one of the vehicles. Despite the severity of the impact, the individual was reported to be conscious and alert upon rescue. Emergency medical personnel assessed and treated the victim before transport.
The crash led to a full shutdown of I-84 westbound in the vicinity of Exit 32, as crews worked to clear the wreckage and ensure roadway safety. The names of those involved have not been released, and authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash.
