Spartanburg, SC (February 23, 2026) – A 75-year-old woman died after being struck by an SUV on Sunday morning on E Main Street near Alabama Street. The crash happened around 8 a.m. as she attempted to cross the roadway.
According to officials, Dolores Dalton of Saluda Street was walking from a parking lot to attend church when she was hit by a GMC SUV traveling westbound on E Main St from Pine St toward Dean St. Emergency units treated Dalton at the scene before she was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Dalton later died at the hospital from her injuries. The coroner reported her time of death as 8:28 a.m., and a forensic examination has been scheduled.
