Milwaukee, WI (July 3, 2026) – A speeding driver crashed into two beauty shops early on Wednesday morning, July 1, on Milwaukee’s south side.
The Milwaukee police said the crash happened around 2:00 a.m. near 11th Street and Mitchell Street. Investigators said a 30-year-old driver was traveling west on Historic Mitchell Street near 10th Street when the vehicle lost control and crashed into the building.
The car ended up almost fully inside Color Bar 1025, a hair salon. The next-door business, Nails On Point, also sustained major damage.
The police said the driver was the only person in the vehicle. A news crew saw one person receiving medical attention, but police said the driver was not taken to a hospital. The Milwaukee crash remains under investigation as officials work to confirm the full sequence.
We hope anyone affected receives the support needed.
Speeding Crashes Into Buildings Create Serious Safety Concerns
Speeding crashes can become especially dangerous when a vehicle leaves the roadway and enters a business. The force may damage walls, windows, equipment, and nearby workspaces where employees or customers could have been present.
Overnight crashes may reduce the chance of people being inside a shop, but the damage can still affect workers and neighboring businesses. Broken glass, unstable walls, debris, and exposed utilities may make the building unsafe until crews inspect it.
After a building crash, investigators usually review speed, vehicle movement, roadway marks, property damage, lighting, and nearby surveillance video. These details help explain how the vehicle left the street and why the damage was so extensive.
