St. Charles Co, MO (January 22, 2026) – A rear-end collision along westbound Interstate 64 just west of Missouri Route DD resulted in one driver being hospitalized on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 5:02 p.m., affecting rush-hour traffic in the area.
According to reports from Troop C, the crash took place when a 2014 Acura MDX, driven by a 43-year-old woman from Lake St. Louis, slowed for traffic ahead. A 2014 Volkswagen Jetta traveling behind her failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the Acura. The Jetta was driven by a 40-year-old man from St. Clair.
Emergency responders from St. Charles County EMS arrived at the scene and transported the woman to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis with injuries. She was reportedly wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. The male driver of the Jetta was uninjured.
Both vehicles sustained damage, with the Volkswagen receiving moderate damage and being driven from the scene, while the Acura was secured roadside.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, which briefly caused delays along the westbound lanes during evening traffic.
