What Factors Are Often Examined After a Head-On Collision?
Head-on crashes are often among the most serious types of roadway accidents because both vehicles may be moving at full speed before impact. After these crashes, investigators usually review the position of the vehicles, road markings, and debris patterns to help determine how the collision happened.
Witness statements can also provide additional context, especially when drivers or passengers cannot explain the moments leading up to the accident. Photos from the scene and vehicle damage are commonly reviewed as part of the process.
Road conditions may also be examined after a collision. Curves, narrow lanes, weather, and visibility sometimes affect how vehicles stay within their lanes. Medical findings and crash reconstruction reports might later provide more details about the severity of the impact and the events that occurred before the collision.
