Sterling, VA (January 26, 2026) – A violent collision involving a white Mitsubishi sedan led to a major emergency response Friday afternoon along Route 28, between Waxpool Rd and Sterling Blvd. The crash left two people injured, with one vehicle reportedly on fire and multiple lanes shut down during rescue operations.
Emergency crews arrived on scene shortly before 4:40 p.m., where they encountered a chaotic scene. A male and female—both reported to be lying in or near the roadway—required urgent medical attention. Initial reports indicated that the female victim may have been unconscious, while the male was described as wearing a blue jean jacket. Their current conditions have not been publicly released.
Fire crews from Engine 624 and other responding units worked quickly to suppress the vehicle fire and assist with patient care.
