What Investigators Typically Review in Bicycle vs. Vehicle Collisions
In crashes involving cyclists and vehicles, investigators often focus on movement patterns just before impact. This includes lane position, turning actions, and how each party entered the roadway.
Road conditions and traffic flow are also reviewed. Busy corridors with multiple lanes and turning points can create situations where cyclists and drivers have overlapping paths.
Witness statements and any available video footage can help clarify how the collision occurred. These details are often used to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the impact.
