Salisbury, MD (September 12, 2026) – Two people were involved and injured in a serious two-vehicle crash Thursday, September 10, on southbound Route 13 near Clyde Avenue in Salisbury. The collision left one vehicle on its side with both occupants trapped inside.
EMS and Fire crews arrived to find a T-bone collision and began working to free the two people from the vehicle. Both occupants were alert and communicating while crews prepared for the extrication.
Firefighters cut the driver’s side window posts and folded the vehicle’s roof down to create enough space for both occupants to safely exit. The two people were then evaluated by emergency medical clinicians.
The available report did not provide further information about their medical conditions. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation by troopers.
Our thoughts are with those involved as they recover from the incident.
What Can Happen in a T-Bone Crash?
A T-bone crash occurs when the front of one vehicle strikes the side of another. Side impacts can be serious because there is less space between the occupants and the point of impact compared with a front-end collision.
The severity of injuries can depend on the speed of the vehicles, the location of the impact, and whether the struck vehicle has side-impact protection. Occupants may also become trapped when the collision causes significant damage or prevents doors from opening.
Fire crews may use specialized tools to remove parts of a damaged vehicle when standard exits are blocked. Cutting the roof or other sections can create a safer path for occupants while allowing emergency personnel to remove them from the vehicle.
