What Factors Are Often Reviewed After a Motorcycle Crash?
Motorcycle crashes are often examined closely because riders have less protection than people inside passenger vehicles. Investigators commonly review vehicle positions, turning movements, speed, and visibility conditions to better understand how the collision happened.
Intersections and parking lot entrances can create added risks for motorcyclists, especially when one vehicle is making a left turn across traffic. In many cases, drivers may have only a short amount of time to react before impact occurs.
Road conditions, lighting, and traffic flow are also commonly reviewed after a motorcycle accident. Damage to the vehicles and witness statements can help provide a clearer picture of what took place. Medical reports may also help explain the extent of injuries suffered during the collision, particularly in crashes involving direct impact between a motorcycle and another vehicle.
