Hunterdon County, NJ (May 12, 2026) – Four people were hurt after a three-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning, May 12, on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County. The crash happened around 12:55 a.m. while traffic was moving westbound near milepost 11.
According to preliminary reports, a yellow Ford SUV, a gray Toyota passenger vehicle, and a blue Honda sedan were traveling on the highway when the collision occurred. Police said the Toyota struck the rear of the Ford, causing the SUV to leave the roadway and hit a guardrail.
The Toyota later became disabled in the roadway. Officials said the Honda then crashed into the back of the Toyota shortly afterward. Emergency units responded to the scene and assisted the people involved.
The driver and passenger inside the Toyota suffered serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Information regarding the conditions of the other individuals involved was not immediately released.
