Ross Township, PA (July 25, 2026) – A 15-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday night while crossing McKnight Rd in Ross Township, Allegheny County.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the teen as Michael Wade of Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood. The police said the fatal crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. between Siebert Rd and Patrick Pl. Their preliminary investigation indicates Wade was crossing the roadway when he was hit.
People familiar with the area described McKnight Rd as a busy corridor where heavy traffic can make crossing on foot difficult. A local pedestrian and bicycle advocacy organization also stated that the roadway lacks adequate infrastructure for people walking. The investigation into the fatal wreck is continuing, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
