Why Teen Pedestrian Accidents Can Be Serious
Teen pedestrian accidents can lead to serious injuries because people walking have no protection from a vehicle. A pedestrian may suffer head, chest, spine, arm, leg, or internal injuries after being struck or knocked to the ground.
Intersections can be especially risky because drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists may all be moving through the same space. Traffic signals, crosswalks, visibility, turning movements, and vehicle speed can all affect how a crash happens. Investigators may review roadway markings, camera footage, witness statements, and vehicle damage to understand the collision.
