What Is Commonly Reviewed After a Cross-Centerline Collision?
Cross-centerline collisions usually require a detailed review of vehicle paths, lane positions, roadway markings, and pavement evidence. Damage to both vehicles can also help show how the collision occurred.
Road conditions, traffic flow, visibility, and driver actions before the vehicles came together are commonly examined. In some cases, investigators also review available video footage or witness accounts to establish a clearer timeline.
Medical evaluations provide information about the severity of injuries and the treatment required after a collision. Combined with roadway evidence and vehicle inspections, these findings can help explain the circumstances that led to a cross-centerline crash.
