Mohave County, AZ (May 26, 2026) – One woman was hurt following a three-vehicle roadway crash on Old Dixie Highway about seven miles south of the Utah-Arizona border on Monday, May 25.
The wreck happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. and involved a Ram pickup truck and two other vehicles. Emergency units arrived and found multiple people near the damaged vehicles. Fire personnel also reported that four occupants remained at the site while two others had left before crews arrived.
Officials said two vehicles were involved in a head-on impact, while a third vehicle sideswiped one of them. The side contact reportedly knocked off a mirror, sending it through the driver’s side window of a pickup truck. Crews used extrication equipment to remove trapped occupants from the vehicles.
A woman was taken to a medical facility by air ambulance after reporting neck and pelvic pain. Three other people declined further treatment. The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash as additional information is gathered.
We hope the woman receiving treatment experiences a full and speedy recovery.
What Happens When Occupants Become Trapped Following a Serious Vehicle Crash?
When a serious roadway collision leaves people trapped inside damaged vehicles, specially trained rescue personnel may use hydraulic tools and other equipment to create safe access points. The primary goal is to remove occupants while minimizing the risk of worsening any existing injuries.
Medical evaluations typically begin immediately after people are freed from the vehicle. Neck, back, and pelvic complaints are treated with caution because these areas can be vulnerable after a significant impact. In some situations, air medical transport may be used when rapid access to specialized care is considered beneficial.
Investigators also review vehicle positions, roadway evidence, witness statements, and damage patterns to better understand how the crash occurred. Early reports provide only basic details, while additional findings may become available after a more complete review of the evidence.
